Christy Haynes

Christy Haynes is the Distinguished McKnight University Professor at the University of Minnesota where she leads the Haynes Research Group, a lab dedicated to applying analytical and nanomaterials chemistry in the context of biomedicine, ecology, and toxicology. Professor Haynes completed her undergraduate work at Macalester College in 1998 and earned a Ph.D. in chemistry at Northwestern University in 2003 under the direction of Richard P. Van Duyne. Before joining the faculty at the University of Minnesota in 2005, Haynes performed postdoctoral research in the laboratory of R. Mark Wightman at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill. Among many honors, she has been recognized as an Alfred P. Sloan Fellow, a Searle Scholar, a Dreyfus Teacher-Scholar, and a National Institutes of Health 鈥淣ew Innovator.鈥� In addition to wide recognition for her research contributions, including over 200 peer-review publications, she has been recognized by her university as an Outstanding Postdoctoral Mentor and theSara Evans Faculty Woman Scholar/Leader Award. Professor Haynes is currently the Associate Head of the University of Minnesota Department of Chemistry, the Associate Director of the National Science Foundation-funded Center for Sustainable Nanotechnology, and an Associate Editor for the journal Analytical Chemistry.
Jeanita S. Pritchett

"Dr. Jeanita Pritchett is an Academic Program Manager and a Leadership Coach within the federal government. She began her career as a Research Chemist working on developing Standard Reference Materials for clinical, food, and forensics related projects. She has over 15 years of experience teaching and currently works as an Adjunct Lecturer of General Chemistry at Montgomery College.
Outside of her full-time work, Dr. Pritchett founded JSP Coaching and Consulting, LLC, a firm that provides leadership and career coaching resources for STEM professionals and organizations. Further, she co-founded Facilitate 2 Motivate (F2M), LLC, a consulting firm focused on helping early- and mid-career professionals achieve success on their own terms. F2M also plays a pivotal role in improving overall organizational cultures through developing diversity, inclusion, and equity strategies and facilitated trainings. As the founder of STEAM Forward! Academy, she also encourages K-12 youth to pursue STEAM (STEM + Arts) subjects with confidence, curiosity, and a genuine sense of belonging through hands-on learning experiences. From inspiring youth to empowering leaders, Dr. Pritchett strives to help others find their place in STEM.
Dr. Pritchett has been the recipient of numerous awards and is a highly sought-after consultant, speaker, and coach. Most recently, she had the distinct honor of having her painting, See it. Believe it. BECOME IT!, featured on the cover of the prestigious research journal Analytical Chemistry. She obtained a B.S. in Chemistry from Tennessee State University, a Ph.D. in Analytical Chemistry from the University of Illinois at Chicago, an Executive Certificate in Leadership Coaching from Georgetown University, and an Executive Certificate in Diversity and Inclusion at Cornell University."
