Bridging the Skills Gap Between the CHIPS and Science Act and Chemical Technical Professionals

ACS Webinars

The CHIPS and Science Act of 2022 represents a significant workforce initiative. It is not only notable for its emphasis on advancing STEM education at higher levels, but also for providing crucial programs and resources aimed at training skilled technical workers who do not possess bachelor's degrees. In this free interactive webinar, learn about key workforce initiatives in the CHIPS and Science Act and how ACS is strengthening the pool of Chemical Technical Professionals (CTPs) at a systemic level through a two-pronged approach--increasing opportunities for CTPs by 鈥榖uilding partnerships鈥 between training programs and industrial employers and 鈥榗hanging the message鈥 by targeting high school and two-year college graduates with accurate information about career opportunities for skilled Chemical Technical Professionals.

Join Martha Ross of the Brookings Metro and John-David R. Rocha of ACS as they discuss the impact of the 2022 Chips and Science Act on skilled technical jobs in the United States and how ACS is establishing scholarships, grants, and supporting industrial mentorship programs and internships to connect more high school and two-year college graduates with potential employers and expand the pool of CTPs to meet future workforce demands.

This ACS Webinar is moderated by Heath Weems of the American Chemical 中国365bet中文官网 and is co-produced with ACS Science Policy.
