What is ACS Program-in-a-Box?
Gather to watch a 75-minute interactive livestream broadcast from ACS Headquarters featuring technical presentations from experts in lab imaging, Q&A, photography chemistry trivia, networking ice breakers, and prizes. Each member community receives a box from ACS that includes giveaways, social media props, instructions, and other support materials to help plan their watch party. Attendees are also encouraged to join in the fun by posting photos and videos with #ACSPIB to the event social media wall.
My group is not an official ACS member community. Can we still participate?
Yes! This event is aimed at ACS member communities and sister organizations (ex. Student Chapters, Local Sections, Divisions) but we welcome groups not yet affiliated with ACS to register for the livestream and participate online. Digital downloads of handouts will be provided to non-ACS groups.
Can my high school chemistry group participate?
This event is aimed at college-age students through early career chemists but may be appropriate for some high schools and other groups. Please contactmultimedia@acs.orgif you have questions about program content and eligibility for this event.
What equipment do I need to provide for my event?
You provide the room to stream the event! Please ensure the room has a good wifi connection, and your video stream is set to play audio. We recommend attendees bring their smartphones, tablet or laptop to participate in the social media wall, trivia, Q&A, and other activities. Stay tuned for more tips and resources to help you plan a successful Program-in-a-Box watch party!
What if my group can’t attend the livestream?
ACS Program-in-a-Box is designed as a live event that takes advantage of various interactive online technologies (trivia platform, livestreaming, social media) so we encourage you to join live if possible. If you were unable to join us live on October 23rd, plan a make-up event using the recording, self-guided version of the ChemClash trivia, and giveaways in the box.
I have more questions! Who do I talk to?
