Are you a faculty member planning to attend the 2025 MidAtlantic Regional Meeting (MARM) and looking for support in integrating chemical safety into your instruction? If you plan to travel to Seton Hall University, we warmly invite you to participate in the pilot of our new Workshop, “Developing Instructional Safety Strategies in Undergraduate Chemistry Labs on Friday, May 30th from 1:30 PM 5:00 PM EST.
This 3.5-hour Workshop will explore undergraduate safety instruction in the context of the ACS Guidelines for Bachelor’s Degree Programs as developed by the Committee on Professional Training (CPT) and resources for program implementation. Additionally, an introduction to ACS’s new, free e-Textbook, Laboratory Safety for Chemistry Students (LSCS), will comprise a substantial portion of the program.
The Division of Chemical Education Safety Committee (DivCHED SC), the ACS Education Division, and the ACS Office of Safety Programs are excited to co-sponsor this event. Interested individuals must first register for MARM via the program’s official website, then select this Workshop as an addition to their itinerary. Participation will be capped at 25, and a boxed lunch will be provided at 1:00 PM EST. Contact Rachel Bocwinski at r_bocwinski@acs.org with any questions!
Keep learning. Excel in your career.
Choose from more than 200 courses in seven different categories, taught by experts in the chemistry community, online and in person.
