The VisChem Approach (developed by Dr. Roy Takser) uses carefully produced, dynamic particle-level animations, combined with constructivist teaching strategies, all informed by a cognitive learning model and the latest research on learning through multimedia, to foster conceptual understanding of chemistry. • Ellen Yezierski, Professor of Chemistry, Miami University, Ellen Yezierski is a professor of Chemistry and Center for Teaching Excellence Director at Miami University. She is a former secondary teacher and long-time professional development designer and chemistry education researcher.
• Katie Yankovec, Science Teacher, Coon Rapids HS, Katie Yankovec is a high school science teacher who has been trained in and implemented the VisChem Approach in general high school chemistry classes.
