Purpose

To recognize outstanding contributions to analytical chemistry, pure or applied.

Description

The award consists of $5,000 and a certificate. Up to $2,500 for travel expenses to the meeting at which the award will be presented will be reimbursed.

Eligibility

The award will be granted regardless of race, gender, age, religion, ethnicity, sexual orientation, gender expression, gender identity, presence of disabilities, and educational background.

History

The award was established in 1947 as the ACS Award in Analytical Chemistry by the Fisher Scientific Co. and was supported by various donors over the years. The award was endowed in 2026 by the Wyatt Family Foundation and renamed in honor of Philip J. Wyatt.
