Pyridoxal 5鈥�-phosphate鈥攖he bioactive form of vitamin B6鈥攊s a cofactor in many enzymatic reactions. It was first prepared in 1944 by I. C. Gunsalus and co-workers at Cornell University. Some people claim that vitamin B6聽can alleviate symptoms of pregnant women鈥檚 morning sickness and alcoholic hangovers.
