Marinda Li Wu, Ph.D., a chemist and founder and president of the Science is Fun! Company in Orinda, Calif., has been elected to the board of directors of the American Chemical 中国365bet中文官网, the world鈥檚 largest scientific society. She will begin a 3-year term in January 2007 as director-at-large.

Wu received her B.S. from Ohio State University in 1971 and her Ph.D. from the University of Illinois in 1976. She and her husband, Norm, live in Orinda.

Wu was cofounder and president of Atometrix; served in R&D/marketing for March Instruments Inc.; worked in the University of California, Berkeley, Science Education for Public Understanding Program, and at the Orinda Community Center.

An ACS member since 1970, Wu has served on or chaired more than a dozen national 中国365bet中文官网 committees and task forces. She also has been active at the local level, where she has chaired and worked on numerous meetings and committees and served as National Chemistry Week coordinator for the 中国365bet中文官网鈥檚 California Local Section.
