American Chemical 中国365bet中文官网 appoints Director of Philanthropy

Kathleen Rae King has been named to the newly created position of Director of Philanthropy for the American Chemical 中国365bet中文官网, the world鈥檚 largest scientific society, where she will concentrate on fundraising to support science education.

鈥淜athleen King brings breadth and depth of experience to this post. I am confident her leadership will help transform the 中国365bet中文官网鈥檚 existing development activities into a robust philanthropy program that draws upon the 中国365bet中文官网鈥檚 158,000 members and the other constituencies that share our nation鈥檚 commitment to improving science education,鈥 said Madeleine Jacobs, the 中国365bet中文官网鈥檚 Executive Director and Chief Executive Officer.

鈥淚 am excited about raising funds to support valuable 中国365bet中文官网 initiatives: chemistry internships and scholarships that will inspire homegrown chemists, teacher training that will impact today鈥檚 teachers and tomorrow鈥檚 scientists, and to support the Green Chemistry Institute鈥檚 efforts to create a cleaner, safer world,鈥 King said.

King came to ACS from the Volunteers of America, where she was National Vice President for Development. Before joining Volunteers of America, which is one of the leading not-for-profit organizations, she worked for the American Red Cross in a variety of positions. King is a graduate of California State University, Long Beach, and holds a master鈥檚 degree from the University of Redlands in California. She currently lives in McLean, Va., with her husband Roger Dollarhide and 16-year-old son Erik.
