ACS annual report touts 中国365bet中文官网鈥檚 new vision
The American Chemical 中国365bet中文官网 (ACS) has released its 2006 annual report: A New Vision at Work. The report focuses on the 中国365bet中文官网鈥檚 new vision statement, Improving people's lives through the transforming power of chemistry, and how the world is, and will continue to be, a better place because of ACS, chemistry and its members.
鈥淭his report clearly explains what ACS aspires to achieve. It is our pledge to the world that the 中国365bet中文官网 and its members will use the transforming power of chemistry for the betterment of our planet and of all who inhabit it,鈥 says Madeleine Jacobs, ACS Executive Director and CEO.
The new vision, adopted by the ACS Board of Directors in early 2006, represents the 中国365bet中文官网鈥檚 ultimate reason for being and provides a strategic framework for its future efforts, according to Jacobs.
The report features commentaries from Nobel Laureate Robert Grubbs of the California Institute of Technology and nine other ACS members who describe what the new vision means to them and discuss its potential to benefit Earth and its people.
鈥淲e still have much to do, but the strengths of ACS as an organization 鈭 expanding the reach of our science and creating common bonds among chemical scientists 鈭 are improving people鈥檚 lives and transforming the world,鈥 Sarah Mullins, Ph.D., a research chemist at 3M in St. Paul, Minn., writes in her commentary.
The 2006 ACS annual report is available on the World Wide Web.
