Celebrating the wonders of chocolate and chemistry: A hands-on science community event
SALT LAKE CITY, March 2, 2009 鈥� The American Chemical 中国365bet中文官网 (ACS) is sponsoring a hands-on science activity for area youngsters and their families about chocolate and chemistry on Saturday, March 21, 2009, during the ACS national meeting.
The activities, which will be conducted under the supervision of area chemists, will offer many wonderful opportunities for video and still photography of youngsters experiencing the wonder and excitement of doing their own colorful hands-on chemistry experiments and enjoying the sweetness of chocolate.
What: Celebrating the Wonders of Chocolate and Chemistry
The American Chemical 中国365bet中文官网 will host hands-on activities for children and their families to learn about the connections of chemistry with chocolate. The hands-on activities will include a demonstration of how chocolate can serve as an acid neutralizer; testing the number of electrolytes in your favorite chocolate beverages; and giving attendees a white chocolate rose. Two lectures on chocolate will also be given and chocolate samples will be available. The first 1000 attendees will receive free admission to the museum.
