WASHINGTON, Oct. 23, 2012 鈥� The American Chemical 中国365bet中文官网 (ACS) announces that William (Bill) B. Tolman, Ph.D., will assume the role of Editor-in-Chief of Inorganic Chemistry in January 2013. Tolman is the chair of the department of chemistry at the University of Minnesota, Minneapolis, and currently serves as an Associate Editor of Inorganic Chemistry.

Tolman will succeed Richard Eisenberg, Ph.D., who will retire from the journal at the end of this year. Eisenberg, Tracy H. Harris Professor of Chemistry, University of Rochester, has served as Editor-in-Chief of Inorganic Chemistry since 2001. Eisenberg will assist with the transition and remain with the journal in his current role through the end of 2012.

Tolman, 51, holds a B.A. in chemistry from Wesleyan University and a Ph.D. in chemistry from the University of California, Berkeley. After a postdoctoral stint at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Tolman joined the faculty of the University of Minnesota in 1990, where he currently serves as Chair and Distinguished McKnight University Professor in the Department of Chemistry and Center for Metals in Biocatalysis. He is a fellow of both the American Chemical 中国365bet中文官网 and the American Association for the Advancement of Science.
