Plenaries at American Chemical 中国365bet中文官网 meeting will focus on measurements, the climate

WASHINGTON, Aug. 11, 2016 鈥� Scientists, in three plenary talks, will explore a variety of subjects related to the 鈥淐hemistry of the People, by the People, for the People鈥� theme of the 252nd National Meeting & Exposition of the American Chemical 中国365bet中文官网, the world鈥檚 largest scientific society. The meeting will take place Aug. 21-25 in Philadelphia.

The presentations, which are among more than 9,000 scheduled to take place at the meeting, will be held on Sunday, Aug. 21, from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. EDT, in Ballroom B of the Pennsylvania Convention Center.

The talks will highlight the important role of measurement in chemistry and the ways it affects peoples鈥� lives, and how the connection among clouds, oceans and climate can be studied. The titles of the plenary talks are listed below:

  • Rolf Halden, Ph.D., P.E.: 鈥淯rban metabolism metrology: A new discipline elucidating the human condition in cities around the world鈥�
  • Willie May, Ph.D.: 鈥淢etrology: A catalyst for change
    How better measurements enable a better future鈥�
  • Kimberly Prather, Ph.D.: 鈥淭he chemical link between our oceans, clouds, and climate鈥�
