WASHINGTON, Aug. 29, 2016 â€� The American Chemical Öйú365betÖÐÎĹÙÍø’s (ACSâ€�) Publications Division has announced three scientists as winners of the 2016 ACS Nano Lectureship Award for outstanding contributions to the field of nanoscience and nanotechnology. This year’s award winners are Lifeng Chi, Ph.D., Christopher Murray, Ph.D., and Andrea Ferrari, Ph.D.; each has been selected for exceptional research that embodies the journal’s mission to advance the field through new discoveries.

The ACS Nano Lectureship Award is sponsored by ACS Nano in partnership with the 32^nd European Conference on Surface Science (ECOSS-32). To symbolize the journal’s global reach, the award honors one scientist each from the Americas, Europe/Middle East/Africa and Asia/Pacific. Each winner will receive an award plaque; a $2,000 honorarium; and travel accommodations to attend ECOSS-32. The lectureships and companion lectures will be presented Aug. 30, 2016, during the ECOSS meeting in Grenoble, France.

The 2016 ACS Nano Lectureship Award Winners

Lifeng Chi, Ph.D., is a Professor at Soochow University. Her research focuses on supramolecular chemistry on surfaces, in particular, molecular assembly and reactions, molecular patterning and structured functional surfaces.

Christopher Murray, Ph.D., is a Penn Integrates Knowledge Professor at the University of Pennsylvania. His research focuses on the integration of precise nanocrystals into devices and technologies.

Andrea Ferrari, Ph.D., is a Professor and Director of the Cambridge Graphene Centre at the University of Cambridge. He is a pioneer in the study of graphene, focusing his research primarily on carbon nanomaterials.

The ACS Nano Lectureship Award, bestowed annually, began in 2012 and has since honored leading scientists in the field, including Chad Mirkin, Ph.D., Northwestern University; Hua Zhang, Ph.D., Nanyang Technological University; Peidong Yang, Ph.D., University of California, Berkeley; Maurizio Prato, Ph.D., University of Trieste; Amanda S. Barnard, Ph.D., Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organization; Klaus Müllen, Ph.D., Max Planck Institute for Polymer Research; Zhong Lin Wang, Ph.D., Georgia Institute of Technology; Itamar Willner, Ph.D., Hebrew University of Jerusalem; Kian Ping Loh, Ph.D., National University of Singapore; Frank Caruso, Ph.D., University of Melbourne; James M. Tour, Ph.D., Rice University; and Luis M. Liz-Marzán, Ph.D., University of Vigo (now, Basque Centre of Cooperative Research in Biomaterials CIC biomaGUNE).
