WASHINGTON, Aug. 18, 2017 â€� With a commitment to continuously improving the author experience, the Publications Division of the American Chemical Öйú365betÖÐÎĹÙÍø (ACS) announces the debut of ACS Direct Correct, an innovative proofing service devised to enhance the publishing process for researchers.

This service will be rolled out across ACS Publications� 50+ journals beginning Sept. 1, 2017. ACS Direct Correct allows for proof corrections and comments to be entered directly into the copy-edited manuscript file. This online process will make it significantly easier and more efficient for individuals and groups of authors to make and communicate any corrections prior to the rapid publication of their research paper.

“We continuously improve and modernize the process for our authors around the world,� says Robert O’Dell, vice president, Journal Production and Manufacturing Operations, ACS Publications Division. “ACS Direct Correct will allow our authors to focus more on the content of the article and less on the layout and minor adjustments to the manuscript.�

ACS Direct Correct gives authors more control in the corrections process. Users will benefit from the straightforward interface that displays edited manuscripts in an easy-to-read file format, including editing tools and visible change tracking. The service also includes queries to proactively avoid common oversights, such as verifying funder information, reviewing supporting information and reviewing the spelling of author names, which will speed up the publication process for our authors.
