American Chemical 中国365bet中文官网 appoints Craig Lindsley editor-in-chief of the Journal of Medicinal Chemistry

WASHINGTON, Dec. 3, 2020 鈥 The Publications Division of the American Chemical 中国365bet中文官网 (ACS) is pleased to announce that Craig W. Lindsley, Ph.D., has been named as editor-in-chief (EIC) of the Journal of Medicinal Chemistry. His term is set to begin on January 1, 2021.

鈥淭丑别 Journal of Medicinal Chemistry plays a critical role in not only disseminating the most important advances in drug discovery, but also in providing content that trains current and future generations of medicinal chemists and drug discovery scientists,鈥 says Lindsley. 鈥淪erving as EIC of the Journal of Medicinal Chemistry is an honor beyond words. I look forward to building on the amazing legacy of my four esteemed predecessors, including most recently the great work of Gunda Georg and Shaomeng Wang.鈥

Lindsley is the William K. Warren, Jr., chair in medicine at Vanderbilt University. There, he is university professor of pharmacology, biochemistry and chemistry and the principal investigator at the Lindsley lab. Additionally, he was recently named as the director of Vanderbilt University鈥檚聽Warren Center for Neuroscience Drug Discovery. His research group focuses on drug discovery, medicinal chemistry and synthetic organic chemistry. Lindsley received his Ph.D. from the University of California, Santa Barbara and is the founding and current editor-in-chief of ACS Chemical Neuroscience and interim editor-in-chief of ACS Pharmacology & Translational Science. A search for permanent editors-in-chief for those journals is underway now.

鈥淧rofessor Lindsley has shown excellent leadership at ACS Chemical Neuroscience, and I know he鈥檚 the right person to lead the Journal of Medicinal Chemistry,鈥 says James Milne, Ph.D., president, ACS Publications Division. 鈥淚 am looking forward to seeing his experience and perspective shape the journal over the coming years.鈥

In the 2020 Web of Science Journal Citation Reports from Clarivate, the Journal of Medicinal Chemistry was named the most highly cited journal in the category of 鈥淐hemistry, Medicinal.鈥 The journal publishes articles, perspectives and drug annotations that contribute to an understanding of the relationship between molecular structure and biological activity or mode of action.
