WASHINGTON, Feb. 29, 2024 鈥� Explore the wonders of chemistry with the American Chemical 中国365bet中文官网鈥檚 (ACS鈥�) Kids Zone, which is a free family science event. It will take place at the Xavier University of Louisiana Convocation Center in New Orleans on Saturday, March 16, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. CDT.聽
鈥淎CS Kids Zone are free public events organized for children and their families as a way to give back to the local community,鈥� says Robin Polk, program manager for the Kids Zone.聽鈥淭he most exciting part of the program for me is seeing kids have fun, while simultaneously helping them better understand chemistry concepts.鈥澛燭his event is being held in conjunction with聽ACS Spring 2024.

Build-A-Battery Workshop
Make a voltaic pile powerful enough to light a small LED bulb.聽

Find out which bubbles are made of hydrogen and which are made of oxygen.聽
Make-and-Take Paper Battery
Made of only paper, foil and saltwater, this small battery really works!
Soccer Ball Chemistry
Experiment with a deconstructed soccer ball to get the inside story on how it鈥檚 made.聽
Hand it to Chemistry!
